Peer Tutoring Program
Important information regarding LACDS changes in light of COVID-19.
– All appointments will be EST so please be mindful of the times as you schedule and plan for your session.
– You will now be able to schedule appointments 2 days in advance (a change from 3 days) and cancel up to 20 hours in advance. Our policies on missed and same-day-cancellation appointments will still apply, but we will of course be flexible and gracious!
– All tutoring must take place online (even if you and your tutor are both on campus).
The LAC-DS provides tutoring services for undergraduate WFU students who wish to improve their knowledge of course content for courses in which they are currently enrolled. Tutors focus on the learning process and help students make progress toward their academic goals. All tutoring services are free of charge to WFU undergraduate students. Availability of tutors for specific subjects varies from one semester to the next. However, tutoring is available for most courses that fulfill Divisional Requirements.
Peer tutors are chosen based upon personal interviews, faculty recommendations, and their grade point averages. Tutoring at LAC-DS is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), and all tutors must successfully complete training towards certification by the CRLA.
