Academic Counseling

The LAC-DS Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, Staff Psychologist, and the Counseling Graduate Assistants are available for academic counseling with students who wish to improve their scholastic performance and become more active learners. Individual academic counseling encourages students to strengthen their study skills, time management, note-taking, test preparation, and reading comprehension. Each counseling session is tailored to meet the student’s needs and goals. Academic counselors can assist students in setting up learning plans. Meeting with counselors on a regular basis is effective in monitoring academic progress and encouraging students to develop a more meaningful approach to their individual, academic pursuits.
